Khon Kaen to Khon Kaen
Nam Nao National Park is one of Thailand’s most underrated birdwatching destinations. The exceptional visibility in the forest allows clear sightings of species that are normally difficult to see; in particular Silver Pheasant, Bar-backed Partridge, Red-headed Trogon, Blue and Eared Pitta, and a profusion of Woodpeckers, Minivets, and Barbets. Besides walking the main network of forest trails, we’ll also head out to the Ban Paek Pine Forest and take a 4WD to get us deep into the park’s Phu Gum Khao section, which has a mix of forest and meadow.
The Birdwatching Tours overview page has complete background information, including lodging and food details and a list of key species, for all our birdwatching tours.
